The Dyson WashG1™ is Dyson's first dedicated hard floor cleaner — a purpose-engineered 2-in-1 cordless machine that removes wet and dry debris simultaneously in a single pass, replacing the mop-and-bucket routine and the pre-vacuum step with one device that leaves hard floors genuinely, hygienically clean without smearing, without redistributing dirty water across clean areas and without the bacteria growth that traditional mops and dirty filters allow to persist. Unlike conventional wet cleaners that rely on suction or passive pad contact, the WashG1™ uses two counter-rotating motorised microfiber rollers positioned front and back — one roller agitates and lifts stains while the other finishes and dries the floor surface, with the dual-roller positioning extending the dwell time on each stain for more effective removal in a single pass. The 26-point hydration system with pulse-modulated pump distributes clean water evenly and precisely across the roller surface through 26 individual contact points rather than a single central nozzle — ensuring consistent hydration from one end of the roller to the other on every pass, eliminating the dry patches and over-wet zones that single-point dispensing creates. The advanced separation system is what makes the WashG1™ hygienically different from conventional wet cleaners — solid dry debris is separated and collected in a dedicated removable debris tray, while dirty liquid is continuously pumped out of the rollers and into a separate dirty water tank, keeping the two waste streams permanently apart rather than combining them into a contaminated slurry that conventional cleaners spread back across the floor.

The in-use hydration control system gives you real-time control over how much water is applied to the floor throughout the cleaning session — three base modes (Low, Medium and High), each with three sensitivity settings that allow you to fine-tune the water delivery for different floor types, debris densities and stain levels, alongside a Boost mode that maximises water output for tackling particularly stubborn dried-on stains. Low mode is ideal for delicate sealed wood floors, vinyl and laminates where excess moisture could penetrate joins. Medium works for everyday cleaning on tiles, stone and most hard floor types. High mode handles the most water-resistant surfaces and the heaviest contamination levels. Boost mode delivers maximum hydration for dried syrup, toothpaste, ketchup, oil mist and any stain that has bonded to the floor surface through drying. The LCD screen on the handle displays the current hydration level and remaining battery life in real time throughout the session, giving you complete awareness of both without needing to stop or guess. The six-point edge cleaning system uses six different contact points along the edge of the machine to clean right up to walls, skirting boards and furniture legs — covering the boundary zones that conventional mop heads and roller cleaners leave uncleaned as they redirect away from obstacles.

The filter-free design eliminates one of the most significant hygiene compromises of conventional wet cleaners — dirty filters that accumulate bacteria, mould and organic matter between cleans and then emit contaminated air and odour each time the machine is used. The WashG1™ has no filter to clog, no filter to breed bacteria and no filter to replace. The 140-second self-clean cycle runs automatically after cleaning while the machine docks on its charging station — flushing clean water through the roller system, removing residual dirty water and debris from the rollers and internal pathways and leaving the machine clean, fresh and ready for the next session without any manual disassembly or scrubbing. The click-in battery provides up to 35 minutes of continuous runtime with coverage of up to 3,000 square feet on a single fill of the clean water tank, covering most homes completely in a single session. All washable components — the dirty water tank, clean water tank, debris tray, rollers and debris brush bars — can be removed and washed in a sink using warm water and detergent for thorough periodic deep cleaning. The WashG1™ is engineered for all hard floor types including tiles, vinyl, laminate and sealed wood — and is not suitable for carpet cleaning, for which a separate vacuum cleaner is recommended.
