The 5MP HD camera mounted on the front of the robot performs real-time AI analysis of the space ahead, identifying and categorising obstacles with a level of recognition accuracy that allows the robot to navigate around cables, socks, pet toys and other small items that challenge simpler sensor-only avoidance systems, reducing the likelihood of the robot getting stuck or pushing obstacles rather than routing around them. Beyond navigation, the front camera enables remote-controlled cleaning — allowing you to drive the robot manually from anywhere through the Xiaomi Home App when you want to direct it to a specific area without running a full automatic cleaning session. The dToF Smart Retractable Radar uses direct Time-of-Flight technology to map your home with high precision while being physically retractable — lowering the robot's profile to navigate into low-clearance areas under furniture, bed frames and sofas that fixed-radar robots cannot reach, ensuring the Robot Vacuum 5 Pro cleans the zones that other robot vacuums consistently miss. Anti-tangle technology is built simultaneously into both the main brush and the side brush — the dual-blade auto-trimming main brush actively cuts and releases hair during cleaning, while the anti-tangle side brush sweeps edge and corner debris into the suction path without wrapping.
