The BLDC (Brushless DC) motor is the defining technical difference between the AURRA and a conventional hair dryer. A standard hair dryer uses a carbon-brush motor that operates at approximately 15,000–30,000 RPM, relies on physical brush contact to transfer electrical current, and generates heat from that friction — wearing down over time, increasing noise with use, and drawing relatively high current to produce its airflow. A BLDC motor eliminates the brush contact entirely: the rotor spins magnetically without mechanical contact, enabling the AURRA’s motor to reach 110,000 RPM — three to seven times the rotational speed of a conventional motor — while producing significantly less heat at the motor itself, running more quietly, lasting longer between service intervals, and consuming less power per unit of airflow delivered. The practical result for the user is a dryer that produces very high-velocity airflow — 21 to 23 m/s — from a 1,600W power input rather than the 2,000–2,400W that a conventional motor requires to generate comparable airflow, meaning the AURRA dries hair faster while using less energy and producing less motor heat that could damage hair at the nozzle exit.
